Poetry - 16/04
It is definitely not April anymore - it's October (spooky season).
I've always been interested in poetry, in the way that words work and the only pretentious nonsense of it all.
I love it and I love the community that surrounds it. Very very early in my first year of university, me and two of my friends went to a Slam Poetry competition in a small room in a nightclub in Leamington Spa.
It was still very early on in our friendship and to me that was a moment I will always remember. We had no idea what we were doing, where we were going or who we were going to become to each other but we had the most wonderful time as we watched students compete with each other with poems of binge drinking, love and lust.
It was truly fantastic.
I knew I wanted to write when I was very young and it helped me to cement everything I felt about myself, my life and therefore my sexuality.
I wasn't sure what I wanted to write and to this day I couldn't really tell you? A novel? A Play? A blog? poetry? TV? Film?
Honestly anything.
So here's some poetry!! I wrote it on the 16/04/2020, in the early hours of the morning; so it isn't perfect but it something.
And to be honest, it means a lot.
Enjoy :)
